Programme for seamless rural society
Programme for seamless rural society is financed by ACF Fund operated in Estonia by Open Estonia Foundation in cooperation with Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organizations.
The project helps to increase the vitality of rural communities by empowering Kodukant member organizations and village leaders to be able to stand for themselves as well as achieve stronger cooperation between communities and rural municipalities. The project is aimed at village leaders, heads and officials of local governments and member organizations of Kodukant.
We also aim to provide a better understanding of the situation of rural communities, build bridges between local authorities and village activists and raise public awareness of the importance of community empowerment and open governance.
Since the start of the project in April 2020 we have finalised mapping of the target groups (village elders, community centres and associations) as well as support system in rural municipalities.
We have also carried out two web-surveys – the first on impacts of corona pandemics on rural population and the second on experiences and needs of new rural population.
We are preparing to launch 4 cooperation seminars in November 2020 bringing together communities and municipal workers.
In February we shall organise community involvement conference for the target group local municipalities.
The project will end with an inspiration seminar for the members and partners of Village Movement Kodukant.
