Programme for seamless rural society

Programme for seamless rural society

Programme for seamless rural society was financed by ACF Fund operated in Estonia by Open Estonia Foundation in cooperation with Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organizations. The activities took place from April 2020 to June 2021.

The purpose of the project was to increase the readiness of local governments to systematically engage in the activation of village communities and to involve them in local government decision-making processes. In the course of the project the state of the village movement target groups was mapped, including forms of co-operation in relations with the local government.

Fast surveys of rural residents were conducted on two topics – the impact of the epidemic and the adaptation of new residents to rural areas.

3 co-operation seminars were held for community activists and municipal officials, attended by 69 participants from 27 local governments.

At the end of March, a web conference “The Role and Opportunities of Community Activisation in Local Government” was held with a large number of participants.
